Kelsey and Josh reached out to me as they were planning an intimate wedding at the summit of Whiteface Mtn. in the high peaks of the Adirondacks. As to many peoples surprise, there are more logistics involved in planning a small wedding than most realize. Especially when you’re saying your vows at the top of the fifth highest peak in the state. It takes one brave couple to say I do at 4,867 feet. So when they asked me to photograph their mountaintop wedding I was beyond giddy.
My husband and I chose to have a small wedding (16 people) and I knew right then and there that I wanted to focus on the small and intimate days. The days where it’s just the two of them or their immediate family. I know there are plenty of full-time photographers that shoot large weddings, because they have second shooters and thats where the money is at for them and though my business is my bread and butter. I love the small stuff. I can honestly say that for me, it took experiencing it first hand to realize just how incredibly special these days are. It’s not taking the easy way out of planning a large wedding or “running away”… or however people feel the need to interpret it. The quiet moments are louder. The kiss seems to last forever. Everything is just….amplified. So is this view! As you can tell, I’m really excited to share Josh + Kelsey’s day with you, because it keeps me loving everything I do. Enjoy!
