Colorado Springs Engagement Session

COLORADO SPRINGS ENGAGEMENT SESSION | PIKES PEAK OVERLOOK IN WOODLAND PARK | COLORADO ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

I think a lot of couples feel they have to drive further west to get great views of the mountains in their engagement photos, but Pikes Peak is right in our backyard!

Woodland Park sits at almost 8,500′ elevation, has tons of trails and if you time it right, you can get a beautiful sunset that beams on the peak. If you’re in Colorado Springs at any of the iconic places like Garden of the Gods, Red Rocks, Cheyenne Canyon or the Incline, you’ll notice that the sun actually sets an hour before actual sunset. Which can make your time kind of limited. The Springs is mostly red rock and pretty dry, so when they said they wanted aspen trees and mountain views without driving too far, I knew just where to go.

I met Katie and Rob when we first moved to Colorado Springs in 2018. I wanted to take a couple up to a dirt road that overlooked the city, use the headlights, dirt and get weird with them. They were one of the first ones to volunteer! I had so much fun with them and their willingness to be creative, that I knew shooting their engagement session and wedding this past fall would be a blast. Not only are they fun, but pretty steamy too 😏
