When I started wedding photography, Pinterest became a popular site. I saw all of these styled shoots and real weddings in the mountains of Colorado. In places like Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Garden of the Gods, The Great Sand Dunes National Park. I remember thinking to myself ‘If only…’ Now, over 10 years later, I’m photographing Estes Park weddings every year and I’m still in awe. I’m living out my dream when I photograph couples in these places.
Anna and Ian had a wedding at the iconic Taharaa Mountain Lodge. If a couple is getting married at the venue or having a rehearsal dinner, you’re probably aware of the lodge that sit nestled in the hillside, away from the hustle and bustle. It’s the perfect spot for an Estes Park Wedding. You can check out their day here!
I had a lot of contact with Anna leading up to their day (as I often do). All wedding plans were falling into place, but the biggest was making sure she had a place to board her horse before their big day. She had a vision of taking photos with her horse in her wedding dress with her Prince Charming. Obviously, I was here for it and I would have rode that horse all the way to Estes Park myself if it meant making this session happen. Not only does Anna work with horses for a living, but she grew up going to the place she boarded her horse and to see it all come together felt really special.
