Vera and Max were recommended to me by a friend in the Springs, and from our first chat, I knew they’d be a blast. For their engagement session, we chased golden aspens and dreamy sunsets in Woodland Park, with big views of Pikes Peak. Given the absolute freaking magic of that day, I should have known their Crested Butte wedding would be just as spectacular.

I arrived in Crested Butte on a fall morning, the kind of day that makes you want to bottle up Colorado’s autumn and keep it forever. Vera’s Airbnb overlooked Mount Crested Butte, overlooking the glowy aspens. It was straight out of a fairytale. The type of fall wedding that would would make so many jealous. And in true Vera fashion, the kitchen was stocked with the best snacks. Her dress was perfectly displayed alongside the bridesmaids’ dresses and the vibe low-key.

Emerald Lake for a first look

Once Vera was zipped into her dress, we were off to Emerald Lake for the first look. If you’ve never been, here’s a pro tip: bring a 4×4 vehicle because this spot is tucked away in the mountains and worth every bump in the road. Max stood next to the lake, vows in his pocket, ready to see his bride. As they read their vows, a light rain started to fall, and I swear, it was like something straight out of a movie.

Then, it was time to head back to Crested Butte Resort for their EPIC fall wedding celebration. Picture this: golden aspens lining the backdrop, fall foliage woven into the seating charts and place settings, and a sunset that reminded everyone why they call it Colorful Colorado. There was delicious desserts, a wacky wavy inflatable tube man on the dance and horse head on the dance floor. A photo booth to document their guests experience.
