Eric and Mari’s Brooklyn engagement session was one of those evenings that just felt meant to be. We originally planned their Brooklyn engagement session at Jane’s Carousel in early February, but if you’ve ever spent a winter in New York City, you know how brutal that cold can be and the city was given frigid weather and a ton of snow. We made the call to reschedule, and honestly it could not have worked out more perfectly.
By the time their Brooklyn engagement session rolled around at the end of the month, the city gifted us entirely different weather. It was warm, sunny and the snow was melting. Downtown was buzzing and Jane’s Carousel was wrapping up their last few rides and birthday parties before we hopped in to soak up the glow.
But what really made this Brooklyn engagement session unforgettable was Eric and Mari. Eric is so kind and steady and you can tell just let’s Mari be her true self. Mari is bubbly and has this magnetic energy that lights up everything around her. Together, they are beautiful, completely in sync. Which makes sense, since they love to dance together. They made it feel easy.
They’re planning a destination wedding in Indonesia, where Mari’s family is from, which sounds absolutely incredible. While I wish I could be there to document that chapter of their story, I feel so grateful to have spent the evening with them in Brooklyn. Even if it was short, it was sweet.
If you’re getting married in 2026 or 2027, let’s start with capturing your love in the city and make some magic!
