Whiteface Mountain weddings<\/a> will never grow old to me. I love standing at the top of a mountain with the wind whipping all around, never knowing what kind of weather you’ll get at the top. It’s a humbling place really. You can go all the way to the summit with mountains still larger than where you stand and realize just how small you are in the world. It really takes special people to get married at the summit with no backup plan. Just knowing that whatever Mother Nature throws there way is what they say “I do” in.<\/p>\n

When I first met Delanie and Zayne it was in the middle of winter for their engagement session. If you missed it you can see it HERE<\/a>. I chose a location with no heat or electricity. I gathered about a hundred candles and cleaned up the space as best as I could. They trusted me and just went with the flow. THOSE are the kind of people it takes to get married on mountains haha It was beautiful, memorable and their wedding was no acceptation.<\/p>\n

When we arrived at the mountain the elevator to the summit was broken and with grandparents, the 27 story hike up the rest of the mountain wasn’t going to happen. So we waited for another wedding to finish and we snagged a spot overlooking the mountains for the ceremony before we ascended to the summit. It was sunny, windy, happy, full of gratitude and just an all around perfect day.<\/p>\n

Sidenote\/Tip: If you’re having an intimate wedding, you can choose to inform the mountain of the occasion if you want. Otherwise, you may have another wedding taking place and they don’t take long. So it’s usually no problem to wait a few minutes. Some couples opt to tie the knot near a stone staircase or at the summit.
