I sat here just staring at the screen for five minutes with so many directions I wanted this post to go and knowing my words couldn’t possibly do this day justice (good thing I’m a photographer). When Christy and Mark reached out to me to photograph their elopement they said they wanted it to be “somewhat spontaneous” and didn’t want anyone to know. I’m certain right then and there I fell in love with their wedding day before I even had a chance to see it. Also, my husband married them and nothing beats witnessing vows lakeside while you’re with your husband. It’s pretty romancy…..
I met up with Christy at her house in the middle of the week to spend time with her while she got ready. Then we hopped in the car and drove out to Hyde Park in Cooperstown with the faint sound of Twerk radio playing in the background (don’t all brides do this?) When we arrived we took a little foot trail down to the waterfront where Mark was waiting and Ryan was strumming a tune on the guitar. They read the sweetest vows to each other…. I swear it must have been the pollen in the air because my eyes were really watering 😉 We watched the sun go down on the most gorgeous of summer days where they shared their first dance as husband and wife. Which soon followed with champagne and a drive into town to grab some dinner. I am undoubtably and not so secretly hoping I capture more and more days like this. These intimate days sure hold a big place in my heart and these two made it pretty magical. Thanks for letting us be a part of it!
